Dolphin expands its operations in Slovakia with a new branch in Košice

Updated: 21 Sep 2023

Košice, Slovakia - Dolphin Central Europe, Europe's leading drinkware company, is expanding its nationwide presence in Slovakia with the opening of a new office in Košice. The company, which began operations in the Netherlands in 1996 and opened its first office in Slovakia in 2000, supplies bottled water dispensers and filter dispensers to companies across the country.

"Košice is a huge, dynamic city with great opportunities for economic development and innovation," said Albertus Olde-Scheper, CEO and founder of Dolphin. "We are seeing growing business here and our customer portfolio is expanding rapidly in the region. We are also ready to meet the growing demand for sustainable and quality products. We have established a local branch to provide even faster and better service and we expect this branch to grow at a double-digit rate in the coming years."

Proper hydration at work has been proven to increase productivity and improve employee health, making water dispensers an essential piece of equipment for companies across the country. Because we are committed to providing energy-efficient solutions, we select durable, environmentally friendly equipment and components.

In addition to its expansion efforts, Dolphin recently launched the Blue Planet Initiative, which aims to partner with organizations that share its sustainability philosophy. The initiative includes, among others, a partnership with the zero-waste festival Pohoda, or the company Balon.sk in Košice, where our partners will be able to take a flight in a Dolphin hot air balloon, observe the beauty of the landscape and at the same time realize the importance of caring for the planet.

With more than 500 dispensers operating in the wider Košice area, Dolphin currently serves 10% of its customer portfolio in this region. We expect our company to employ approximately 20 logistics staff in the near future and potentially add another ten people in sales and administration.

Dolphin is committed to contributing to the social community in which it operates and intends to build a local presence when it comes to culture, sport and business events.

The official opening of Dolphin's Košice operation will take place on 20 January 2023 at 121 Hlavná Street from 14:00 to 16:00. The opening ceremony will include a ribbon cutting by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Slovakia and the Mayor of the City of Košice, and, weather permitting, the christening of Dolphin's new hot air balloon by the Honorary Consul of the Netherlands.
