When do I need to change my water bottle?
The bottle placed on the dispenser should be replaced as soon as you see the last bit of water left in the bottle, so before it's completely empty! Removing the bottle in time prevents the tank from running empty, which can lead to damage or failure of the compressor or hot tank due to undercooling or overheating. Always make sure that you have a safe stock or that you have ordered new bottles as soon as you place a bottle on the cooler, so that you don't run out of water. If you run out of water, drain the water tank by pressing the taps until no more water comes out and disconnect the cooler from the electricity to avoid damaging the dispenser. When placing a new bottle, make sure the reservoirs are completely full before plugging in the cooler. You can see this by watching the air flowing in the bottle. When the bubbles stop, the reservoirs are full.
What is needed to install a water dispenser?
For bottled water coolers: These dispensers can be installed practically anywhere where there is a 220V power supply available within 1 meter. The dispenser must be installed on a flat surface. For hygienic reasons we recommend not placing the dispenser in direct sunlight, near a heat source, near waste disposal or in a damp or dusty environment, or at any location where potential contamination could occur. Bottles, full or empty, must be stored in a cool, dust-free environment, not in direct sunlight. This is the correct way to maintain good quality. Coolers and bottles should not be placed outside. For filter water dispensers: These dispensers are directly connected to the mains water supply and must be located within approximately 2 meters from the nearest water supply with a 220v power socket available within 1 meter. The installation also requires plumbing if a fixed water valve is not available. Depending on the water pressure and the quality of the plumbing work, it is also necessary to install a pressure regulator and a waterblock/ overflow prevention. A filter cooler can be installed practically anywhere where a mains water supply is available. The dispenser must be installed on a flat surface. For hygienic reasons, we recommend not placing the dispenser in direct sunlight, not near a heat source, near waste disposal or in a damp or dusty environment, or in any location where potential contamination could occur. Dispensers should not be placed outside.
What are the dimensions of the water dispenser?
The average height of the cooler (without the barrel) is 1 meter and covers an area of 34x34 cm, but the dimensions differ for individual models. For exact dimensions, please see the technical specifications of the dispenser of your choice in our catalog. We always recommend placing the cooler approximately 5-10 cm away from the wall to allow for proper cooling and ventilation.
Do I need extra sanitation equipment for our dispensers? (for example, an ozone-based SIP unit or a UV lamp)?
No, not when your dispenser meets the relevant hygienic food standards in relation to WE (Watercoolers EU) and NSF (National Science Foundation) regulations. The sanitation of the water dispenser is the cleaning and disinfection of all parts that come into contact with the water in order to avoid microbiological contamination. Dolphin water dispensers are equipped with food grade replaceable or fixed water reservoirs that meet the industries legal obligations and association standards (WE and SWCA)* and are regularly sanitized to these standards and by properly trained personnel**. This guarantees the dispensing of safe and healthy water during the entire period of use of the dispenser. To cover facilities that do not meet the corresponding standards, the association has adopted some alternative hygiene tools to avoid the risk of contamination. Dispensers with a lower quality level (like non food grade plastics) can therefore be equipped with an ozone-based tool (so-called SIP unit) or a UV lamp. These work like an airbag principle, i.e. if the device or its parts that are in contact with water are contaminated in any way, using ozone can kill pathogens and prevent the accumulation of algae. It is the same with the UV lamp, which disinfects the water at the point of delivery with the same effect. You should preferably choose a device without this necessity, since it is not clear to you, as a customer, whether this disinfection tool works correctly under all circumstances. Both an ozonizer and or UV devices do not clean the dispenser parts from dirt, scaling or contaminations other than microbiological. Furthermore an ozonizer can be damaged or the concentration level can change, and the UV lamps can be switched off, broken or the glass can be dirty to the point that it does not work properly without the knowledge of the consumer. If you want to be sure that your dispenser is safe, choose a SWCA supplier and ask for a certificate of conformity. Warning! Ozonation may result in the formation of the potentially toxic oxidation byproduct bromate and can cause serious health issues. The use of ozone for disinfecting water is recommended only in a controlled and well monitored surrounding. *SWCA members are regularly audited by independent NSF authorities to prove that they meet all standards and legal requirements and that their products comply with industry and European and national regulations. Ask for your supplier's audit certificate! **According to SWCA rules, all employees who perform sanitation must have successfully completed HAC (Hygiene Awareness Course) training in order to perform sanitation at your dispenser. Ask your supplier for your food handlers certificate as evidence! Note: a checklist is available to review all quality standards and compliance with legal and industry standards on www.swca.sk.
Can I clean and sanitize the dispenser myself?
Sanitation is recommended to be performed by a trained food handler using food grade chemicals compatible with the material of the dispenser and its parts. If you decide to perform sanitization yourself, we take no responsibility for the results. Hygienic cleaning is also recommended to be performed by a Dolphin food handler, but you can do it yourself using a soft cloth and food grade detergent. The drip tray of the cooler is removable and can be washed in a regular dishwasher or sink with warm water and soap. Faucets should be thoroughly rinsed with clean water after washing and disinfected with a food grade disinfectant spray. Hygienic cleaning is a reduced form of sanitation and includes: Sanitation of the non-spill system (bayonet system for the entry of bottled water); Cleaning or replacement of the drip tray; Cleaning or replacement of faucets; Cleaning of the exterior of the dispenser.
How often do I need to clean or sanitize the device?
The recommended frequency of sanitation depends on the type and model of the dispenser and reservoir and on the conditions in which the dispenser is located. The first sanitization is always performed by Dolphin before the first installation. Dolphin recommends at least two sanitizations per year for a bottled water cooler or filter cooler, conforming to the international industry standards and guidelines.
Why does my dispenser need frequent sanitization?
Bacteria are everywhere, and many of them are not harmful. However, to ensure a clean and healthy drinking experience using the dispenser, we strive to reduce the build up of pathogens. Keeping the dispenser clean and regularly sanitized is the way to do it. The Slovak Water Cooler Association follows internationally tested and approved guidelines for determining the correct frequency of sanitation for you.Extra sanitation can always be performed by our experts if the dispenser is located, for example, in a polluted or dusty environment, or in a place where there is a higher risk of contamination (e.g. schools, hospitals, heavy production sites). As a user, you should always observe the user instructions and make sure that the cooler is suitable for water consumption at all times. Make sure the drip tray is regularly emptied, keep the dispenser cleaned from dust or dirt, and also make sure the water bottles are placed in a clean location. Promote hand washing before using the dispenser.Do not hesitate to contact us or ask for cleaning if you have doubts about the cleanliness of the dispenser, or if you are interested in advice on how and when your dispenser must be sanitized.
Important: Sanitation should be performed regularly by professionals using chemicals compatible with the equipment's material and following the proper guidelines and instructions. If you decide to do the sanitation yourself and not have it performed by a Dolphin food handler, we can not be held responsible for the result.

What is the difference between cleaning, descaling and sanitation?
Hygienic cleaning is a reduced form of sanitation and includes: Sanitation of the non-spill system (bayonet system for the entry of bottled water); Cleaning or replacement of the drip tray; Cleaning or replacement of faucets; Cleaning the outside of the cooler. Descaling accumulation of calcium inside the cooler can result in clogging or malfunctioning of the device. It can also lead to increased energy consumption or decreased water flow. Descaling the appliance requires food grade descaling chemicals compatible with the material of the hot tank material and must be carried out by a professionally trained technician. If necessary, during descaling, the hot water tank will be dismantled and replaced with a new one. We recommend descaling the dispenser at least once a year, especially for coolers with hot water. If you are interested in descaling, please contact us. Sanitation is the process of hygienically cleaning and disinfecting the external parts (see "Hygienic cleaning"), as well as cleaning and disinfecting (or replacing in case of a removable reservoir dispenser) the internal parts of the dispenser that are in contact with water. Complete sanitation covers: The outer part of the cabinet; The drip tray; The Non-spill system; Reservoir, baffle and faucets.

Our water bottles are past their expiration date. Can we still drink it?
If stored correctly water will remain good for consumption within a year after bottling. If the final consumption date has passed it is recommended to exchange the bottle(s) for new. Ensure that in your storage you always use the oldest bottles first to prevent this from happening. Using a bottle storage rack allows you to easier control the exchange in your storage location.
After sanitizing the dispenser, only room temperature water flows from the taps.
The service technician might have forgotten to switch the cold or hot tank control back to ON position. You will find the switches in the back of the cooler, and can put them back to ON to resolve the problem. Please note: Not all models have a hot-tank control switch! After turning the switch to ON, it might take a few minutes for the temperature to return. If the problem remains contact Dolphin customer service on +421 2 206 200 80
We put a new bottle on the dispenser but now we have zero to none water flowing. Is the machine broken?
No, the machine is not broken. With the exchange of bottles the air filter might have gotten wet blocking the water flow. To check this, please remove the bottle and take the filter out of the non spill device on top of the unit. Leave it to dry for 3 days outside the cooler. In the meantime, replace the bottle and check if water now flows from the taps. If it does, the problem is solved and the filter can be replaced once dried. If the problem remains contact Dolphin customer service on +421 2 206 200 80.

I ordered a free 3-week trial dispenser with water and received an invoice. Should I pay it?
Yes during the trial you may already receive an invoice for the deposit of the bottles of water that were supplied to you. You will need to pay this invoice, and the deposit will be returned to you once all (empty or full) bottles have been returned after the trial. If you decide to rent the cooler after the trial, a contract will be created, and the deposit will automatically be settled with newly delivered and exchanged bottles.
We receive a separate invoice for water deliveries and for equipment rental. Can these be combined to one combined invoice?
No, unfortunately not. Rental is automatically invoiced on contractual agreed frequencies, and (water) deliveries always after the actual delivery has been performed. Our administrative system generates separate billing for each process.
