Drinking and mineral water in the workplace

Updated: 21 Sep 2023

In Slovakia, employers are required by law* to provide their employees with a drinking regime during increased heat and cold stress. Employees must have access to drinking water in the workplace at all times.

If the temperature exceeds 30 degrees Celsius, it is recommended that at least half of the recommended fluid intake should be slightly mineralised water (either bottled table water, mineral water or spring water) to replenish minerals and salts lost through sweating. Tap water is not sufficient in extreme heat as it does not contain the necessary minerals.

Employers should bear in mind that high temperatures can lead to fatigue and impaired attention. Employees experience a decrease in performance, which can negatively affect safety at work.

The employer must ensure the proper storage and availability of bottled water. Compliance with workplace drinking guidelines will prevent employees from filing complaints with the union or the labour inspectorate.

Why Dolphin drinking regime in the workplace?

Dolphin water is bottled directly from the source and has an excellent taste and balanced mineral content. Dolphin spring water is a guarantee of quality as it contains no chemicals or preservatives.

It is recommended that employers encourage the consumption of water instead of beverages that cause dehydration (e.g. coffee). Employees must have access to drinking water in the workplace at all times - a Dolphin dispenser is therefore the ideal solution!

Simply plug the Bottled Water Dispenser into any place where an electrical outlet is available. A dispenser in the workplace encourages people to drink more water.

Dolphin service technicians are trained to install the dispenser in a convenient location, away from direct sunlight, heat sources or waste receptacles. They will recommend a suitable location to store your water barrels in accordance with food industry standards. Our technicians regularly disinfect and sanitize the dispensers, guaranteeing a safe and hygienic drinking regime for your employees.
